Ringing in the new year, another developer has proclaimed a new years resolution to make all of their code, "well tested". The stated goal is 90% code coverage, with the majority being unit tests, though some UI testing with Playwright will be needed. Of course this will only be done to new code. Existing work and side projects will keep their single digits code coverage to meet contractual obligations.
Their post notes, "Writing tests is the hardest part of software development because it's sooooooooo boring. But if done right, it can save minutes, or dozens of minutes, of manual testing effort." Which is a truth bomb I think we all need to remember sometimes.
The current odds on Polymarket have them failing by January 9th with a detailed LinkedIn post on their learnings by January 23rd. But us at globalGlob(**/*) are wishing them luck, and hope they make it to February 12th. Just in time for our Polymarket bet to pay out big.
