Remote developer Shane Cantillope chose to work on a bug from the team's kanban board. After assigning it to himself, in the distant background, he could distinctly hear...boss fight music? Like from a video game? Exactly. Like from a video game. And the more he worked on the bug, the closer and louder it got. It was badass, kinda scary, and almost deafening.
Cantillope told us, "Once I figured out the pattern, it was pretty easy. As soon as the bug started looking real scary, like it was glowing, that's when it was time to reposition. Work inside a different class or module. After that, the bug was spent for a little while and I could go right back in for the attack...uh, the fix."
Cantillope says the bug was so difficult, he had to restart the work a couple of times. He would not state how many times, but it was more than 40. Next time, he plans to take things a little easier and will attempt a bug classified as Easy instead of jumping right to Hard mode.
