The other day a developer came up to me awestruck by what I was able to accomplish in such a short amount of time and wanted to know how I went from nothing, to the successful entrepreneur I am today.
The answer is simple. Hard work and determination. I worked hard to earn everything I have today. Late nights working from the bar, early mornings working from the coffee shop, skipping lunch trips, and sometimes working weekends at my parents' guest house.
At 20, I dropped out of college and used most of my trust fund to build my very first startup. Crips, the crypto mining co-location business. Crips earned $2 million the first year, and $2.1 the year after. In year 3, we pivoted to minting NFTs. After exiting that business, we moved on to develop A.I. SaaS services that wrapped ChatGPT.
What do all these have in common? They take advantage of new concepts and technology.
Never stay in a business too long or the landscape changes. Competitors appear, regulations slow you down, and lawyers say you have to start paying taxes. If you're not first, you're...not first. 2nd. Maybe 3rd. 4th? Depends how many other people are in the race. What I'm saying is, don't stop until you're immediately at the top. If you're not, move on to the next big thing before anyone else realizes what it is.
